Field Survey
PRIDE team is skilled to conduct filed surveys at individual, household, or community level and for specialized segments like establishments, industries etc. across Pakistan. PRIDE has designed and executed a number of field surveys. Open Data Kit (ODK) is a widely used open-source platform that facilitates data collection through the use of mobile devices. It was designed to gather data in areas with limited or no internet connectivity, making it suitable for various research, monitoring, and evaluation projects. ODK allows users to create custom forms, collect data offline, and submit it when an internet connection becomes available.
At PRIDE, we leverage the power of cutting-edge technology to enhance the impact of our projects and initiatives. As part of our commitment to efficient data collection and analysis, we proudly employ Open Data Kit (ODK) as a robust tool in our data gathering endeavors. ODK’s versatility allows us to create tailored data collection forms that align precisely with the unique requirements of each project. The platform’s offline capabilities ensure that our field teams can confidently collect data in remote or low-connectivity areas without compromising data integrity. With ODK, we can seamlessly capture diverse data types, including multimedia, empowering us to gain comprehensive insights from the field. Our collaboration with ODK’s open-source community reflects our dedication to staying at the forefront of innovation, continuously refining our data collection processes. Through ODK’s efficient and user-friendly interface, we optimize the data collection experience, enabling us to make informed decisions and drive positive change for the communities we serve.
Starting from the research question, the research team identifies the target audience depending on the appropriate sampling technique, develops specific (qualitative or quantitative) survey tools for online, on phone, and in-person survey technique. To ensure data quality, strict survey monitoring, digitization and field management are employed while the surveyors training, and data matching and analysis linked monitoring are employed. Survey tools are implemented in the field after pre-testing and piloting of survey instruments. Close field team supervision and field visits during data collection are also critical for quality assurance. The interpersonal abilities of the experts help ensure extended quality improvement. Development of field surveyor manuals, field completion reports, training reports, evaluations reports and summaries pertaining to field monitoring and management are employed before the collected data is analyzed.
